Central Forest Reserves (CFRs) Overview

The Central Forest Reserves (CFRs), managed by the National Forestry Authority (NFA), cover 1,265,741 hectares of forestland. They account for 64% of Uganda’s Permanent Forest Estate (PFE), with the remaining managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). The CFRs are preserved to supply forest products and ensure delivery of public goods, including:
